Sometimes in life you find your “purpose” in a project, and this little project has done that for me.
I am a storyteller, but after releasing my 1st children’s book WHY THE GIRL BECAME A CAT (proceeds help to raise funds to mentor and hire young people on the spectrum), I received a call from a trusted friend who asked if I would be interested in writing additional children’s stories for an LP of bedtime stories to soothe young children… and of course, I answered with a resounding YES!
SING YOURSELF TO SLEEP was the story that summed it all up perfectly and helped me to realize WHY this work is so important to me. In writing and performing these stories I am able to say all of the things I wish had been said to me when I was a young girl growing up in South Louisiana.
This first story set to instrumental music by the amazingly talented Jeff Gold was released a few weeks ago by MY CALM WORLD and is just the first in a series that will roll out approximately every two weeks for awhile.
It’s a chaotic time right now in our world with the corona pandemic happening. It’s affecting us all. This story (and the ones to follow) are being released now - earlier than planned - to provide parents with a way to soothe the anxiety trying to creep into our homes right now.

Jeff and I are experienced working with children, and especially with children on the autism spectrum, so please remember to share these stories with parents of young people on the spectrum as well… many of them are having a difficult time right now with children home full-time and some support services suspended during the current crisis.
